"Sport4Fitness CIC were lucky enough to have received a grant from Give Northants to support young people and families to engage in cooking sessions at our base in Moulton. The grant supported us to be able to buy new equipment to enhance our delivery. We have had 15 people sign up to the program. We have opened it up to the community and it is a fully inclusive session. These sessions wouldn’t have been able to happen without the grant as finances are always tight. The grant has benefitted the group by giving them an opportunity to meet new people and socialise as well as having a yummy meal to share or take home to other family members and also has given them something to be proud of something they have achieved themselves."

Sport4Fitness CIC successfully utilised a grant from Give Northants to launch a fully inclusive cooking programme at their base in Moulton. The funding primarily allowed them to purchase vital new equipment to enhance their delivery. The programme has been highly successful, opening up to the wider community and securing 15 enthusiastic participants.

Beyond teaching culinary skills, the sessions have fostered a strong sense of community, allowing local families and young people to socialise, share a nutritious meal, and build personal pride through their achievements.

Based on the feedback, our funding directly alleviated several critical challenges for the organisation and the community:

  • Severe Financial Constraints: They explicitly noted that “finances are always tight.” Without this grant, they would have lacked the budget to launch the programme at all.

  • Lack of Necessary Equipment: Prior to the funding, they lacked the proper tools required to deliver high-quality, scalable cooking sessions.

  • Social Isolation: Families and young people in the area were in need of safe, structured spaces to connect. The grant directly addressed this by creating an opportunity for participants to meet new people and socialise.

  • Food Insecurity & Cost of Living: The provision of a “yummy meal to share or take home” highlights a community need for accessible, nutritious food for the whole family.

  • Low Confidence / Lack of Engagement: The community needed positive outlets. The program addressed this by giving participants a tangible sense of accomplishment and “something to be proud of.”
