Crusader Community Boating specialises in boat trips which enable everyone, regardless of age, physical or mental ability, to experience the fun and beauty of our waterways in Northamptonshire on the Grand Union Canal and River Nene in our purpose-built and fully accessible wide-beam boats. The service is run by fully trained crew volunteers and funded through hire charges and voluntary donations. Subsidised trips are available for eligible groups. Private Charter Trips can also be arranged for anyone looking for an interesting day out for a party of up to 35 people. These trips help cover our overhead costs.

We are indebted to GIVE Northants who have supported our charitable work through a number of grants over the years. We have used these funds, for example, to help fit-out our second boat with flexible seating, maintain our defibrillators, procure crew uniforms and send crew on emergency first aid training.

For the majority of our passengers, the ability to come on our specially equipped boats, along with their carers, provides them with social and leisure opportunities they might well otherwise be unable to access. We hope this contributes, in some small way, to their social welfare, countering feelings of isolation many often experience.
